A variety of resources and information is available to help you guide your student through her or his first year at Mercer! Please utilize these campus resources, as well as the services provided by the Office of Academic and Advising Services, to aid in your student’s transition to Mercer.

The Office of Academic and Advising Services (AAS) promotes the educational success of students through a variety of support programs focused on academic advising, new student transition programs and curriculum, pre-health professions and pre-graduate programs, and recognition of academic excellence.

The Academic Resource Center (ARC) provides tutoring, supplemental instruction, and other programs to boost students’ academic success. ARC also conducts workshops throughout the year on a variety of study skills topics and houses an ergonomic computer lab.

Mercer University Admissions handles all inquiries regarding undergraduate admissions including admissions requirements, transfer/AP credit, and campus tours.

ACCESS and Accommodation | 478.301.2778
The ACCESS and Accommodation Office seeks to foster a sense of empowerment in students with diverse medical conditions by educating them about the ADAAA and their responsibilities, encouraging them to engage in healthy behaviors, critical thinking and self-advocacy, and supporting them in being successful students.

The Athletics Department oversees Mercer University athletics as part of the NCAA, Southern Conference, and University.

Auxiliary Services oversees microfridges, laundry services, copy services, and meal plans. The department also administers the campus mail services, Bear Card system, and campus bookstore.

The Office of the Bursar receives student tuition payments, can answer questions regarding student accounts, and houses the Student Bank where students can have checks cashed.

Barnes & Noble Bookstore at Mercer University | 478.301.2945
Located in Mercer Village, the Mercer University Bookstore stocks textbooks, apparel, gifts and accessories, and supplies and electronics for Mercer students. Reference the website for their textbook price matching program.

Campus Life engages students, faculty, and staff with co-curricular activities. Campus Life also coordinates QuadWorks and Fraternity and Sorority Programs.

CORE Management manages the Mercer student health insurance. Due to the continued need for all students to have adequate health care coverage, Mercer University requires students enrolled in 3+ hours to provide proof of health insurance coverage each semester. Student accounts are automatically assessed a premium each semester for the Mercer University Student Health Insurance. Those students who already have health care coverage through other sources may have this charge removed from their account by submitting a health insurance waiver to CORE Management.

Counseling and Pyschological Services (CAPS) offers counseling to all currently enrolled Mercer students at no fee and assists with the college transition, relationship management, stress management, drug and alcohol abuse, and other emotional and mental health challenges while in college.

Dining Services offers a variety of meal plan and menu options in dining centers and through other food venues, such as Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Which Wich, and coffee from Brewed Awakenings.

Fraternity and Sorority Programs includes Interfraternity Council, National Pan Hellenic Council, Panhellenic Council, and National Multicultural Greek Councils and focuses on enhancing the educational experience of all students through cultural, educational and social programming, leadership development, and volunteerism.

The Registrar’s Office publishes the yearly University calendar of important dates, as well as the University Catalog that outlines the academic responsibilities and policies for the six undergraduate colleges/schools to ensure degree completion. Additionally, the Registrar’s Office publishes the semesterly course offerings, assists with enrollment and registration, and evaluates transfer, dual-enrollment, AP, IP, and CLEP transcripts to determine Mercer equivalencies.

The Office for Student Success assists students throughout their educational progression toward graduation by connecting them with the appropriate offices, departments, and people when they need help and aren’t sure where to start, utilizing Starfish software to help track student progress, and receiving suggestions and feedback to improve the Mercer experience.
