Pre-Nursing

Nursing students gather around a teaching patient

Students who aspire to enter the field of nursing at the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) level or higher are considered to be on the “pre-nursing track.”

High-achieving students may seek participation in the Special Consideration Program for Nursing, which involves 2 years of prerequisite work on the Macon campus followed by 2 years of nursing school. This program is offered by the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences in partnership with Mercer’s Georgia Baptist College of Nursing, and results in completion of the BSN in 4 years.

Alternatively, students may complete the prerequisites for any other nursing school, or complete a bachelor’s degree in any discipline as they complete the admission prerequisites for their preferred nursing program(s).
